CNC Programmer
Full Time

Role and Responsibilities

As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, writing, and optimizing CNC programs for a variety of machines, including milling, lathe and 5-axis. This position requires a deep understanding of aerospace machining processes, materials, and industry standards. You will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to provide accurate and optimal CNC programs and ensure projects meet customer requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for a variety of machining operations, including milling, turning, and drilling, based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for machining operations. Ensure all tools and equipment are calibrated and meet AS9100 quality standards.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to generate accurate CNC programs using advanced CAD/CAM software (ESPRIT).
  • Propose and implement process improvements for machining operations to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve product quality.
  • Work closely with production teams to support smooth workflow, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all programming work, tooling, setup sheets, and process documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace and adhere to all safety protocols in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining/programming, with a strong focus on aerospace components and materials.
  • Proficient in using CAD/CAM software (ESPRIT preferred) for CNC programming
  • In-depth understanding of aerospace industry standards, materials (e.g., titanium, aluminum, Inconel), and machining processes (e.g., milling, turning, 5-axis).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with ESPRIT CAM software.
  • Experience with DMG Mori brand machines.
