Summary

Seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Part-Time Instructor of Manual Machining or CNC Machining to join our Workforce Continuing Education department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and manufacturing processes and a passion for teaching and guiding students to succeed in their careers. This role focuses on preparing students for certification under the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) standards.
Essential Functions

• Teach 2 evenings per week and/or weekends, following the Workforce Continuing Education course schedule.
• Develop lesson plans, course materials, and assessments to align with NIMS certification requirements.
• Ensure a hands-on, engaging learning environment by using appropriate lab equipment and tools.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help students achieve their learning objectives.
• Maintain safety standards and proper use of machining equipment in the classroom and lab.
• Participate in program development, curriculum updates, and assessments in collaboration with the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in manual machining, CNC machining, or a related field.
• Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to various learning styles.
• Commitment to student success and ability to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Flexibility to teach on evenings and/or weekends as required.
