Join Our Team of Industrial Skills Instructors at Bucks County Community College

Bucks County Community College is seeking qualified individuals to join our team of talented industrial skills instructors to teach during daytime hours. Our programs are growing, and we are seeking individuals for a variety of programs ranging from machining to welding. These are part-time, contract-based positions with a flexible schedule.

Instructors will be responsible for instructing adult participants in training programs and should ideally have a broad array of experience and skills related to machining, including experience with machines (lathes, drill presses, band saws, milling, CNC, etc.), blueprint reading, shop math, measurement, and safety.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Instruct, develop lesson plans, maintain student attendance, provide assessments, and paperwork associated with the course. Identify supplies/materials/equipment required for class and maintain equipment. Mentor as needed.
  • Course structure - daytime career training classes are conducted Monday-Thursday and some Fridays for approximately 12 weeks. The program runs in continuous 12-week cycles, with each cohort consisting of both theory and hands-on practice in a lab/shop setting.
  • Programs are held in the new state-of-the-art Center for Advanced Technologies in Bristol, PA, a 28,000 square foot building with flexible space to meet the workforce needs of our community.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma and 5 years of experience or an associate's degree
  • Over 10 years in industrial/manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to mentor learners in soft skills such as teamwork, professional work behaviors, and professional communication skills.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Machining/metalwork, blueprint reading, welding.
  • Knowledge of MS Office for email and recordkeeping
  • Familiarity with facilities maintenance a plus.
Preferred Qualification:
  • Adult teaching experience preferred.
