AST currently has an opening for a Metal Spinning Technician / Programmer capable of efficient setup, operation, and off-setting of various spin machines.  The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of metal forming conditions, offsetting and recognizes tool condition.

Advanced Structural Technologies (AST) is an industry leading manufacturer of forged, flow formed and machined products for the automotive, defense, aerospace and alternative energy markets. As a fully integrated contract manufacturing business, all process steps are completed on site in AST’s 100,000 sq. ft. facility. 

AST is located in Oxnard California 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 2 miles from the Pacific Ocean and California’s Pacific Coast Highway.

Working Relationships:

Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering and Machine Programmers on proving out new machine programs.

Works closely with Production Supervision to maintain output per production schedule.

Capable of clear communication with other Technicians and Maintenance staff between shifts regarding spun part status and other machine information.

Critical Skills/ Experience: 

Excellent math skills are required.  Understanding of Lathe / Spin machine controls a must. Able to learn and comprehend the intricacies of spinning parts.

Education:

Relevant work experience is desired.  Any formal education a plus, but not required.

Rate:

$30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience.
