Machining Workshop Technician

Scope of the job:

Machining Workshop Technician is responsible for maintaining the technology or process to be in line with all the aspects of quality, process control plans and other documentation; dealing with technology issues with regards to the machine and machine maintenance, is able to fix the small issues in process/technology that leads the production process being aligned and produced according to specification and to a weekly plan. Assists in and cooperates with team members on Corrective Action Reports as required.

This position will entail training in Japan for a duration of 3-6 months.

This role will play an important part in setting up the new line in Chandler to ready it for production, helping with the transfer of knowledge from Japan and actively participating in the installation and commissioning phase of the project

Main Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for using the correct PPE, obeys required processes and procedures.
• Is responsible for meeting the daily production targets with respect to quality, volume and efficiency. Collaborates with, other zone members and the Zone Leader in establishing priorities, ensures customer due dates are met.
• Experience in machining programs, can insert corrections to the programs and often finalize this on the CNC machines itself.
• Performs Daily machine check and completes TPM paperwork
• Deals with technical issues that arise during daily machining operations and if unable to resolves reports to Zone leader/ machining production engineer
• Performs leak tests and assists in troubleshooting leak test failures.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures. Follows and complies with assigned tasks.
• Promptly reports problems to management and seeks assistance towards resolution of more complex problems.
• Maintains working area in accordance with good housekeeping practices and 6S standards as defined by management.
• Maintains established quality and time standards. Provides input and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Completes all required paperwork accurately and according to work instructions.
• Raises issues, observations at SIM2 meetings.
• Follows the Kanban system.
• Obeys VTPS rules/standards

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

• High School education, preferably in a mechanical/technical field
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing or machining environment
• Understanding of Vacuum pumps technology and production system VTPS is an advantage. Practical experience with the use of quality, EHS and lean manufacturing tools.
• Skills and orientation in CNC machining, programming and SOPs.
• Good PC literacy; experience with SAP an advantage
• Ability to read and understand the production documents/drawings, and published specifications
• Some knowledge of English is a huge advantage
• Willingness to work in shifts, time flexibility, detailed oriented person with faithfulness.
