Spyderco, Inc., a conservative, established and growing manufacturing company committed to superior sporting, tactical and culinary knives and accessories, is looking for a skilled and motivated 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Golden, CO. This position is responsible for operating equipment used in the cutting, fabricating, and manufacturing of high-quality knife blades and components. Machine operators also perform tasks to complete the machine operating process including but not limited to material handling, loading and unloading machines, and quality checks.

  • Convenient Schedule: 2nd shift hours from 3:30 pm to 12:00 AM, Monday through Friday (training period runs 7:00 am to 4:00 pm for 30-90 days).

What You'll Do: As a Machine Operator, you'll play a key role in crafting our high-quality products. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operating and maintaining equipment used for cutting, fabricating, and manufacturing knife blades and components.
  • Loading and unloading small parts onto milling centers and CNC machines.
  • Performing reaming, tapping, and bending operations with precision tools.
  • Conducting quality checks on bulk parts and ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Performing basic machine maintenance, housekeeping, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Changing tooling and making machine adjustments as needed.

What You Bring to the Table: We are willing to train the right person!
  • Experience with CNC mill operations and G-code adjustments (preferred).
  • Education in machinist-related programs or courses (preferred).
  • Proficiency with measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) (Preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents and hold tight tolerances.
  • Knife knowledge is a bonus!

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions and stand for up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Push, pull, lift, and reach frequently.

Collaborative Culture: You'll work closely with our Manufacturing Manager, R&D team, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, Quality Control, and other departments to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
