Lathe Programmer/Machinist

Primary responsibility: Keep jobs flowing through lathe department.

Overview: Ensure quality & on-time part production by programming, training others, setting up and running 2-5 axis CNC lathes. Daily interface with plant manager to set priorities.
Summary of tasks:
 

• Program roughing and finishing lathe operations and some milling
• Select proper tooling to run jobs, create setup sheets
• Review operation details with plant manager
• Assist with trouble shooting problem operations/jobs
• Report job status details to plant manager
• Ensure chosen tooling & job related item availability
• Train & support lesser skilled machinists with proper setup and run techniques
• Setup and run jobs as needed
   

Must haves:

• In depth Master Cam programming experience
• Working knowledge of materials, & machining feeds/speeds
• Blueprint reading including GD&T tolerances
• Full knowledge of machining operations
• Strong machinist skill set and background
• Fanuc G & M code knowledge
