We are currently seeking candidates to work at our Monroe, Georgia location. We need Group Leads in our machining area who are comfortable with a high speed production process as well as attention to detail to ensure that a quality product is produced for our customers. Individuals hired for this position must be able and available to train and work on available shifts and be willing and able to work mandatory overtime.

Shift/s Available for this Position:

E shift (Monday through Thursday) 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Troubleshoots and improves machining processes as required in order to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Manage the shop floor activates of the Steering machining production team and ensure all daily production activities are thoroughly communicated to Supervisors.
  • Perform tool changes on hobbing, grinding, milling and turning machines within the Steering machining department.
  • Train production associates to safely operate CNC machining centers within the Steering Machining department that includes automation and in-process gauging.
  • Respect work hours, support production goals and timetables, which may require overtime.
  • Ensures the following:
  • a) Utilizing knowledge of ISO14000 & IATF16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions
  • b) All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely.
  • c) Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
  • d) Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities.
  • e) Changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
  • f) Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
  • g) Recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Three (3) years manufacturing experience with preference in machining equipment and/ or high-speed equipment operation.
  • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Must understand how to read a CMM report with relationship to GD&T and part drawing.
  • Must be knowledgeable of geometric tolerance, quality control, and inspection.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
