Manage the CNC Operators and develop skills through program training and coaching. Ensure sufficient staffing of CNC Machine operators needed to meet the production demands on all shifts.
Job Functions:
- Designate daily machine assignments to operators in order to ensure machine utilization effectively and work with IT to develop operator production statistics.
- Maintain employee attendance and machine assignment records and print, distribute and collect production paperwork.
- Ensure smooth transition of job requirements from CNC Set-up personnel to CNC operators and from shift to shift.
- Monitor and enforce operator performance by working alongside operators, being available for questions in order to ensure machines are kept running and producing high-quality parts.
- Identify and report machine repair and maintenance issues and prioritize those within the department for the maintenance department.
- Suggest process improvements and equipment purchases.
- Hold responsibility for interviewing and training CNC operators.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years' of experience in a supervisory role in a production environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and be trained in CNC machines and support equipment.
- Must have complete knowledge of metrology equipment and their uses including micrometers, calipers, indicators, depth micrometers, gauge pins, thread gauges and optical comparators.
- Must be fluent in MS Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word and Production Software Applications - Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
Salary range
- 31-35 / hour
