CNC Shop Lead-PCM

Summary:
The CNC Lead will be responsible for achieving established safety, quality, and operational goals while optimizing efficiency and effectiveness. Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Focuses on the key daily disciplines of technical assistance, set-up communication, positive attitude, and teamwork.

Essential Job Functions:

• Leads team members in the promotion and integration of new ideas and process improvements.
• Programs, sets up, and operates the CNC equipment in their respective area.
• Set up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding, and milling
• Monitors levels of production, shift output per machine, labor performance, scraps and rejects, and housekeeping.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Responsible for assigning jobs and machines to team members
• Answers questions and leads team members on their designated area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the training and development of team members in their department/shift including shadowing and coaching.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Maintains continuity among the team by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Must be able to measure parts with calipers and tape measure
• Plans machining by translating engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production parameters.
• Meet and exceed objectives set by the manager
• Provide complete and accurate documents, records, and files in both electronic and paper form
• Provide a professional and positive image to all visitors, suppliers, inquiries, and other interactions
  Qualifications/Certifications/Experience:
• Formal training, or job experience in AutoCAD, Alphacam, and Solidworks.
• 3 years experience as a CNC machine operator
• Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings
• Disciplined, dependable and resourceful
• Strong time management, customer service, and verbal communication skills
