Summary of Position Mission

Responsible for the tech department meeting all production goals and objectives as set by the Director of Manufacturing or the Company.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees and supervises the day-to-day activities of the tech department and employees
  • Directs activities of employees in order to meet schedule demands
  • Assists employees as needed to meet schedule demands
  • Provides training and inspect work of subordinates
  • Conducts performance evaluations as requested
  • Assists or directs the transfer of product to and from the manufacturing department and vendors as necessary
  • Ensures that the work area is kept organized, neat and accessible to find all necessary parts
  • Reports all work related injuries immediately to department manager
  • Assists department manager as requested
  • Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company
  • Ensures that everyone in the department area adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company
  • Assists in the hiring of new employees in collaboration with department manager and Human Resources
  • Communicates all personnel and disciplinary issues that may arise within the department to Department Manager
  • Improves upon and maintains acceptable production numbers in accordance with Company standards
  • Stays on task with assigned duties at all times
  • Completes all required paperwork timely and accurately
  • Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.
  • Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as always directed by Company.
  • Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards co-workers, other departments, and the Company.
  • Maintain respect, courtesy and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.
  • Actively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and department.
  • Other duties assigned as required.

Qualifications &Knowledge Required

  • A two year technical degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • General mechanical ability is high desirable
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is highly desirable
  • General computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn new skills as demanded by the position
  • Follow all established environmental safety protocols required by OSHA, federal and state agencies and the Company
  • Interact effectively with peers, staff and all levels of management
  • Requires attention to detail as well as the ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize accordingly
