Description:

Carolina Precision Technologies (CPT) is a leading, world-class manufacturer of complex, high precision medical device and aerospace solutions. The CNC Programming and Technical Lead is a front-line leader responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production milling department, ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards and coordinating with other departments to achieve production goals all while prioritizing safety and continuous improvement initiatives within the milling process.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
  • Works closely with the Production
  • Control Manager to schedule work for machines and delegates tasks while monitoring progress.
  • Continually trains, mentors, coaches and develops the milling team.
  • Writes and optimizes CNC programs (Mastercam) and selects the appropriate tooling and machine for each job.
  • Tests programs and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshoots and solves problems related to machining applications, machining tool paths, and machine operation.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Checks labor tickets and work orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews new parts to determine suitability and quotes cycle times.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Analyzes production problems, determines root cause and implements corrective/preventive actions.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating preventive maintenance and repair services following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
  • Repairs machines when possible.
  • Proactively leads and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintains inventory levels of raw materials, tooling, and supplies, and coordinates with purchasing department for replenishment.
  • Sets up and operates machines as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment: Calipers, Micrometers, Go-NoGo Pins or Gauges, etc.
  • Ability to read drawings or blueprints with standard dimensioning and tolerancing, title blocks.
  • 5 years of CNC 5 axis milling setup and operator experience
  • 3 years of experience with Mastercam including 5 axis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of general shop operating and safety practices

Preferred but Not Required:
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, and FDA requirements
  • Experience with ERP systems (Preferably VISUAL)
  • Experience with Chiron Mills
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
