CNC Programmer/Machinist
Position Description
ISSI is ready to hire an CNC Programmer/Machinist for our growing machine shop in Indianapolis, Indiana! We are located in Park Fletcher, on the inside of 465 near the airport.
Pay: $35 - $50 per hour.
Job Overview
The CNC machinist will setup and operate various small and large CNC machines on the shop floor. They will also inspect parts to ensure they conform to the print.
Responsibilities
- Review job notes, part and tooling setup sheets and blueprints.
- Setup the machine for the required work holding, boring necessary chuck jaws, and aligning V-blocks, squares, vises and other working holding devices.
- Machine the parts, inspect them and populate FAIR and inspection documents. Having knowledge of shop inspection methods and tools are required.
- Assembles machined and purchased components based on a print.
- Work with engineers, other machinists and the shop foreman to resolve machining and assembly issues.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Work experience as a CNC machinist. 5+ years preferred.
- Experience setting up and operating at least one of the following: 3 axis vertical, 4 axis horizontal, or 5 axis vertical CNC mills.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
- Can handle the physical requirements of an active, working machine shop - including standing, moving, tight spaces, good vision, and more.
Bonus Qualification - Programming!
Experience programming machines 3, 4 or 5 axis mills and 2 axis lathes using CAM software package. ISSI uses Inventor and Siemens NX for CAM programming.
