Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with production to develop and implement improvement ideas on CNC machinery, CNC programs, select tooling, tool list, set-up sheets, design and develop fixtures, special tools and other related devices for production which align with the manufacturing processes and plans in a collaborative environment with engineering and production.

This position may participate in one or more of the following duties as directed by supervision or management.
  • Create programs per company job processes and customer specifications using Cam Works CAD software.
  • Generate set-up sheets.
  • Maintain and update CAM software.
  • Strong reading and interpretation of drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions.
  • Select proper tooling, edit programs and adjust speeds and feeds to optimize and achieve production plans.
  • Work in a proactive, collaborative and positive manner with engineering, quality, production and other departments to identify, propose, plan, improve, implement and resolve manufacturing concerns.
  • Review past and current job processes for possible changes, updates and improvements.
  • Research new tooling, equipment and manufacturing processes which enhance the company's ability to remain competitive and profitable.

  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities may be added as assigned.
  • Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

Education/Experience:
  • Two year technical degree in machining applications or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive Programming experience in Milling a job shop environment, CAM experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong CNC Milling background.
  • A good working knowledge of a wide variety of materials.
  • CAM Programming (Cam Works)
  • CAD Modeling (Solidworks)
  • Extensive knowledge of Engineering processes and specifications.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule in order to meet customer and production requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and electronic data management
  • Experience in CAD/CAM solid modeling preferred with the ability to accurately replicate components of the machining process (parts, fixtures and tooling) in support of developing and confirming the production process to plan.
  • Working knowledge of cutting tool geometry, speeds and feeds for various materials.
  • Working knowledge of trigonometry and other mathematical formulas needed to calculate machining processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of blue print reading and Geometric Dimension and Tolerance.

Experience:
  • CAM: 5 year (Required)
  • CNC Programming: 5 year (Preferred)

Education:
  • Associate (Preferred) or 5-10 years of industry experience.
