Job Summary:

As a Process Engineer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems within a production environment. Your primary focus is to ensure that products are produced efficiently, effectively, and in line with quality standards

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Process Design and Improvement: Designing and developing manufacturing processes for new products or improving existing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
  2. Process Optimization: Analyzing production processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implementing changes to optimize these processes.
  3. Secondary Processes and Packaging Selection: Selecting appropriate equipment, machinery, tools, supplies, and technologies required for manufacturing processes to achieve desired outcomes.
  4. Quality Assurance: Collaborating with quality control teams to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications. Implementing quality control measures within the manufacturing process.
  5. Cost Reduction: Identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product quality or safety. This might involve optimizing supply usage, streamlining processes, or reducing waste.
  6. Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation related to manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, process flow diagrams, and quality control documentation.
  7. Troubleshooting: Identifying and addressing production issues, equipment malfunctions, or other challenges that could disrupt the manufacturing process.
  8. Data Analysis: Collecting and analyzing data from production processes to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. Using data to make informed decisions about process modifications.
  9. Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production workers, supply chain professionals, and management, to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Keeping up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Continuously seeking opportunities to enhance manufacturing processes and stay competitive.
  11. Lean Process Optimization: Driving initiatives such as implementing 5S methodology, managing preventive maintenance, facilitating Kaizen Events, visual factory oversight, optimizing tool life, implementing shadow boards, and tracking planned vs. actual metrics to enhance operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  12. Health and Safety: Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and guidelines. Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards within the production environment.
  13. Training: Training production staff on new processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  14. Project Management: Managing projects related to process improvement, new product introduction, or facility upgrades.
  15. Scale-up: Collaborating on the transition of new products from prototype to full-scale production, ensuring that the processes are scalable and sustainable.
  16. Environmental Considerations: Considering environmental factors and sustainability in manufacturing processes, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency.
