Position: CNC Operator I
Location: Dekalb, IL
Wage: $20.38 up to $35.03 (Depending on CNC Experience)
Shift: 2nd Shift 11:30AM - 8:00PM

While reporting directly to the Blister Form Tooling Supervisor, the following job description outlines the essential functions of each level of role within the tooling department. The following lists are not exhaustive, and the employee in each of these roles is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Basic operation of several CNCs within the shop
• Properly identify, assemble, and disassemble all types of holders and cutting tools
• Perform routine setups, tool-setting, and fixture assembly with minimal guidance
• Basic prepping and running routine parts such as assist plugs, stripper plugs, heat blocks, feed plugs, and sample molds
• Simple indication of parts to find datums
• Rudimentary floor programming to perform fly cuts, circle/square cuts, open holes, etc.
• Inspect quality of components using gauges and other measuring devices
• General knowledge and operation of the manual knee mill and lathe
• Simple operation of CNC gun drill with guidance as needed
• Identify and investigate problems to determine root cause and establish correction/preventative actions
• Accurately follow a production schedule while reporting in-process work with estimated completion times as needed
• Perform all tasks in a safety-conscious manner
• Healthy attitude to work within a team environment
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

We'd love to hear from you if:

• High School or equivalent, Vocational or journeyman+ preferred
• Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, sketches, and work orders
• Fundamental skills as machinist in metal fabrication, tool making, and mold construction
• Understanding of tolerances and precision measuring
• Basic computer experiences with CAD/CAM, file processing, email, Web navigation, and MS office
• Must have a working knowledge of shop math and general hand tools
• CNC knowledge or experience
• General knowledge and understanding of G-codes and M-codes
• Crane/hoist operation
