WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

SUHNER USA, Inc. is seeking to fill the full-time CNC Operator on 1st shift, located at our facility in Rome, GA.

BASIC FUNCTION
The function of the 1st shift CNC Operator is to load and unload machines and perform secondary operations.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Novice

  • Follow production orders as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform other functions related to the machine shop.
  • Maintain a safe and neat work environment and clean at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain an acceptable quality output per production order.
  • Able to understand basic drawings and measuring tools to confirm compliance.
  • Weigh count the completed parts production ran to verify quantity.
  • Deliver the finished machined parts to the Quality Control Shelf for final inspection

Setup and Run Two
  • Setup and run per work instructions to achieve the required specification, quality and quantity expectations as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Acquire all necessary tooling such as collets, drill chucks, end mills, drill bits, reamers, etc., and setup machine per instructions.
  • Prepare material for the appropriate machine in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures and work instructions including documentation of lot numbers for materials.
  • Ability to understand complicated drawings and measuring tools to confirm compliance.
Program & Setup and Run Four
  • Setup and run per work instructions to achieve the required specifications, quality and quantity expectations as dictated by the department supervisor.
  • Pull up program for machine and refer to set-up instructions to be the first part run.
  • Prepare material for the appropriate machine in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures and work instructions including documentation of lot numbers for materials.
  • Acquire all necessary tooling such as collets, drill chucks, end mills, drill bits, and reamers, etc., and setup machine per instructions.
  • Measure all dimensions per drawing specifications.
Setup and Run All Machines:
  • Setup and run per work instructions to achieve the required specifications, quality and quantity expectations as directed by the department supervisor.
  • Prepare material for the appropriate machine in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures and work instructions including documentation of lot number for materials.
  • Acquire all necessary tooling such as collets, drill chucks, end mills, drill bits and reamers, etc., and setup machine per instructions
Expert:
  • Program and setup and run any machine per work instructions to achieve the required specifications, quality and quantity expectations as directed by the department supervisor.
  • Prepare material for the appropriate machine in accordance with engineering specifications, procedures and work instructions including documentation of lot number for materials.
  • Pull up program for machine and refer to setup instruction to begin the first part run.
  • Acquire all necessary tooling such as collets, drill chucks, end mills, drill bits and reamers, etc., and setup machine per instructions.
  • Measure all dimensions per drawing specifications.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED preferred and/or Machine Tool Technology Certificate.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and other documents related to the job
  • Write legibly
  • Perform basic math operations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) with and without use of calculator
  • Ability top measure product using micrometers, calipers, scales, thread pitch gauges, thread micrometers, blade micrometers, depth micrometers, height gauge, core micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to operate digital scales for weighing of product.
  • Able to operate relatively complex production CNC machinery in addition to, the ability to operate manual lathes, milling machines and surface grinders, performing multiple interrelated operations and adjustments per drawing.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work. Understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
PHYSICAL DEMAND OF JOB
  • Stand for at least two (2) hours without resting
  • Lift at least 50 lbs. unassisted; greater than 50 lbs. assisted
  • Ability to push and/or pull carts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to ben and stoop to the floor

Salary range

  • 21-25 / hour
