Position Summary

As a CNC Maintenance Technician, you will utilize electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagnostic equipment to perform precision machine installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. You will provide updates utilizing our CMMS and inventory tracking systems. You will complete preventive and planned maintenance tasks using equipment O & M manuals, schematics, and other drawings. You will use sophisticated measuring instruments for completing precision machine alignments. You will utilize analysis tools, such as oil sampling, vibration analysis, and thermal imaging to predict equipment failures and generate work requests for predictive maintenance.

Position Responsibilities
  • Repair CNC Machinery, Manual Machines, Robotics, and Machining Centers
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electrical and electronics, and software, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal and vendor resources to research machine issues.
  • Print reading and interpretation to include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronics.
  • Perform number system conversions (binary, hexadecimal, octal, etc.).
  • Properly use precision measuring tools for checking, verifying, and correcting machine alignments.
  • Perform machine alignments (conventional, laser, and electronic, etc.).
  • Identify types of common pumps and distinguish their application, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of variable speed DC and AC drive systems.
  • Provide daily reports and status updates.
  • Utilize the CMMS system for generating and tracking daily activities.
  • Complete planned and preventative procedures.
  • Use safe rigging practices.
  • Work based on a sense of urgency with machine down conditions.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of CNC maintenance technician experience.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine design and operation.
  • Ability to read part manuals, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Demonstrated high degree of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical aptitude and repair abilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electrical test equipment and electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts, side-by-sides, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability, motivation, and willingness to maintain current and develop new skills.
  • Work safely and effectively in a team environment, as well as with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Office computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Must read, write and speak fluent English.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidates will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industrial mechanical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and/or knowledge of welding, machining, milling, cutting, etc.
  • Experience in other mechanical maintenance trades such as industrial maintenance, hydraulic, mechanical technician, and/or other similar trade experience.
Additional Functions
  • Physical requirements: Ability to walk campus site, climb ladders, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, lift a minimum of 50 lbs., and be exposed to sun and varied weather conditions regularly.
  • Mental requirements: Well organized, ability to multi-task, analyze/interpret, and make a rational decision, verbal, written, and math skills a must.
