An exciting opportunity exists for a CNC Machinist to join our St. Joseph Team. The CNC Machinist will work within the Machine Shop and support plant production need.

SHIFT: 3rd (Train on days) (1030p-630a)
PAY: $25.26 - $28.76

Purpose Statement:
Must be able to operate CNC machine with the understanding of machining concept. Able to machine parts with little rework and high quality in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading materials, setting cutting tools, and inputting program codes.
  • Operate CNC machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy, monitoring the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Interpret work instructions to determine machining requirements and tolerances based on the written process and machining program.
  • Work individually and as a team with other machine operators.
  • Responsible for repairing and monitoring the use of tooling.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards, adjusting machine settings as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, such as programming errors, tool wear, or machine malfunctions, to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Document production activities, including machine settings, production output, and quality inspections, to maintain accurate records and traceability.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains to enhance overall productivity and performance
  • Operate overhead cranes.
  • Work from heights if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
  • 1-2 years machining experience preferred
  • 1-2 years reading rules and micrometers preferred
  • Experience reading blueprints preferred
  • Experience using power tools preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems required
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints
  • Strong math skills.
  • PLC skills preferred
  • Ability to complete required paperwork
  • Follow written process instructions
