10% shift premium for 2nd shift hours

Requirements

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for precision CNC Machine programming, set-up, and first piece runs for lathes, mills, and multi-axis Computerized Numerically Controlled equipment for production and prototype parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-Up and operate basic manual and CNC shop equipment and tools safely and skillfully

• Perform machining operations on all types of materials (e.g., ferrous, nonferrous metals, and alloys, etc.)

• Work to job batch parts list, prints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to produce parts

• Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of industry, equipment, and techniques related to role

• Suggest continuous improvement ideas regarding productivity, efficiency, and processes to management

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:

Equipment Preparation, Set-Up, & Maintenance

• Set up and/or break down basic equipment, fixtures, and tooling

• Utilize pressure-regulated air hoses; Deburr parts and edges to drawing specifications and shop standards

• Use saws, sanders, grinders, and other equipment to prepare and produce rough parts

• Train and perform routine maintenance of machines and auxiliary equipment (i.e., chip barrels, etc.)

• Assist in the training of new employees in all aspects of machining role

CNC Machining and Production

• Use CNC equipment to manufacture simple and complex parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, and coordinate and exacting tolerances

• Set-Up/Operate CNC machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, and multi-axis work centers

• Train machinists to and produce parts within required tolerances according to prints, designs, and specs

• Receive, check, and verify sub parts needed for work orders; solve any discrepancies

• Select appropriate cutting tools to maximize efficiency and ensure quality of product

• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, etc.)

• Maintain accurate dimensional tolerances based upon work instructions

• Voucher time accurately for daily work and neatly complete production forms as required

• Anticipate needs and communicate deficiencies to supervisor: maintenance, tooling, material, personnel

Quality Assurance

• Promote, guide, and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations

• Produce, prepare, and provide part to Quality for First Piece Inspection

• Inspect part characteristics at in-process and final check points as required by specifications

• Prepare parts with a focus on uniformity, quality, and workmanship

• Ensure all required documentation is completed at each stage of production

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive, understand, and communicate daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction

• Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment in work area

• Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized

• Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices

• Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers

• Willingly performs other duties as trained and able
