Overview
As a CNC Machinist with a strong emphasis on programming, you will play a key role in our manufacturing process, contributing to the creation of precision components. Your primary responsibility will be programming and setting up CNC machines to produce parts according to engineering specifications. This position requires a high level of technical expertise in CNC programming, the ability to troubleshoot and optimize programs, and a strong understanding of machining processes.
Responsibilities
• CNC Programing:
1. Develop and optimize CNC programs using industry-standard software, such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, Mazak or similar.
2. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create efficient and accurate CNC programs.
3. Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure program accuracy and feasibility.
• Machine Setup and Operation:
1. Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, fixture preparation, and workpiece loading.
2. Verify program correctness through trial runs and adjust as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
3. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed during production.
• Quality Assurance:
1. Conduct in process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
2. Collaborate with quality control teams to address and rectify any deviations from specifications.
3. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machining processes and quality.
• Troubleshooting:
1. Identify and resolve programming and machining issues promptly.
2. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
1. Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, tooling configurations, and machine set up details.
2. Document changes and updates to programs for future reference.
• Safety and Compliance:
1. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
2. Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and compliance standards related to CNC machining.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with a focus on programing.
• Two year technical degree in CNC Machining or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in CNC programming languages and software.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Detail oriented with a commitment to producing high quality work.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
