The SARA, Inc. High Power Electromagnetics Division (HPEM) is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and imaginative CNC Machinist III to support research and development and rapid prototyping projects activities to transition innovative technologies to the DoD, DoE, and their contractors in Colorado Springs, CO. The CNC Machinist III will work within the Rapid Development Group (RDG) team consisting of other machinists, engineers, and interns.
Core Responsibilities:
Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $24 to $37 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA's total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.

The CNC Machinist III will work within the Rapid Development Group (RDG) team consisting of other machinists, engineers, and interns.
Core Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of aluminum, plastic, and steel parts
- Programming, setting up, and operating a CNC mill and/or lathe
- Use creativity to solve fabrication problems in order to maintain the flow and quality of fabricated parts
- Maintain the CNC machines and other tooling and equipment, including preventative maintenance
- Schedule services on the CNC machines
- Keep the Mastercam software up to date
- Keep tooling organized and stored when not in use
- Wash down the inside of machines at the end of each day
- Minimize clutter around work areas
- Sweep the floor around work areas
- Keep personal tools stored in the employee's toolbox
- Associate degree in Machining Technology or equivalent education or training
- Minimum of 5 years' progressive, responsible, and demonstrated work experience
- Experience with Mastercam and SolidWorks
- Experience with Haas CNC Controller
- Ability to use various measurement and calibration tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
- Experience cutting and preparing various materials for machining
- Ability to program and operate a waterjet CNC machine
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and Email)
- Attention to detail
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
- Moderate physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working environment is indoor, moderately loud, reasonably clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated, moderate physical hazards may exist
- Self-Starter
- Operate with minimal supervision
- Experience with QA/QC measurement tools ISO 9001
