Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Operate CNC machines and ensure precise setup and alignment within specifications.
- Tool Management: Manage tool changes and make offset adjustments for accurate machining processes, conducting routine checks on tool conditions.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret blueprint dimensions accurately, in order to manufacture parts within specifications.
- Inspection: Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts are within specified tolerances.
- Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Adhere to machining policies, Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO standards, and safety guidelines for compliance and quality assurance promptly reporting and resolving non-compliance issues.
Within 60 days:
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating a wider range of CNC machines, including complex setups and programming requirements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to coordinate workflow, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing production priorities, schedules, and work assignments, maintaining high performance levels under pressure.
- Further develop troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve machining issues, minimizing downtime, and maintaining production targets.
Within 90 days to one year:
- Achieve mastery in operating a wide range of CNC machines, demonstrating confidence and competence in handling complex machining tasks.
- Develop advanced problem-solving skills to address complex machining issues, effectively resolving challenges and minimizing production disruptions.
- Strengthen collaborative partnerships with engineering, quality control, and production teams to streamline communication, resolve issues, and optimize workflow across departments.
- Pursue additional training and skill development opportunities to broaden technical competencies and prepare for future career advancement opportunities within the organization.
Position Requirements
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machines with precision and thoroughness to meet quality standards in a production environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints and manufacture parts within specifications.
- Position strong machine shop math skills and ability to perform calculations.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision measuring instruments and ensure parts conform to the blueprints.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate on problem-solving.
- Efficient prioritization and time management skills to meet production schedules.
Preferred
- Work flexible and extended hours as needed. Must be available to work weekends.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the highest quality of finished products.
- Willingness to explore innovative machining techniques and technologies.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in machining processes or technology.
- Experience with any of the following machines including Bruderer, Star, Citizen, Deco, Makino, and/or Matsuura.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to support in training new team members.
