LOCATION: HOUSTON, TX

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

To machine a finished product using machining equipment, tooling, blueprints, and written instructions according to company and or customer specification in accordance with company policies. This includes new and reworkable products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Must be able to setup, operate and troubleshoot a CNC or a manual machine with limited supervision and guidance
  • Read and interpret blueprints, or work from verbal and/or written instruction, sketches etc.
  • Use precision measuring tooling including gauging of all types
  • Perform required inspections of production parts to verify quality of part
  • Verify correct identification, quantities, and production of product per work order
  • Meet and/or exceed production quality and quantity standard
  • Troubleshoot majority of issues that arise during processes with limited assistance
  • Must have an elevated understanding of programming for editing of programs, calculating feeds and speeds, and depths of cuts
  • Assist in cross training other employees
  • Assist in helping with troubleshooting on relatable issues within the machine shop
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Other Requirements
  • Must have basic understanding and ability to maintain and utilize grinders, saws, and other shop machinery whether electric or air pneumatic
  • Must understand work order instructions
  • Must be able to operate multiple pieces of equipment assigned
  • Must follow safety procedures at all times
  • Must have a strong knowledge of machine shop mathematics

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience required.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses tools and other such equipment during the course of the job duties. Provided Personal Protective Equipment, as well as steel-toed boots or shoes, must be worn at all times.
