CNC Machinist – 1st or 2nd Shift
Pay: $20.00 – $31.50/hour (DOE)
Shift Differential: +12% for 2nd shift
Schedule (5-4/9 Work Schedule)
- Week 1: 5 × 9-hour shifts
- Week 2: 4 × 9-hour shifts (Every other Friday off)
- 1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- 2nd Shift: Available with shift differential
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating a variety of CNC and manual machines while producing precision components to customer specifications. This is a great opportunity for machinists looking for stable hours, skill development, and a better work-life balance with every other Friday off.
Core Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple machining processes simultaneously, including milling, drilling, boring, sawing, tapping, and grinding to close tolerances
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes in various stages of production
- Operate a variety of CNC and manual equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and other specialized machinery
- Use calibrated measuring tools and inspection equipment to ensure parts meet customer specifications
- Complete required production paperwork and quality checklists accurately
- Work closely with toolmakers, engineers, program managers, and quality personnel to resolve issues and ensure product compliance
- Perform work with a strong focus on safety, quality, and accountability
Qualifications
- Solid job history, including 2+ years with a previous or recent employer
- 1–3 years of experience as a machinist required
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling, machining, and process issues
- Experience using hand tools such as grinders, belt sanders, band saws, and drill presses preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and retain training
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Ability to read and understand written instructions, procedures, and safety rules
- Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Additional technical or vocational training preferred
