Perform machinist duties associated with production of components for pistols, revolvers and rifles. Operate computer numerical controlled machines to fabricate parts. Machinists are expected to have achieved advanced skills and be able to perform complex production work in the following areas: set-up, tech support, and advanced CNC machining.

Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear

- Performing all general/intermediate machinist duties and responsibilities
- 12 hour shifts on a rotating 2-week schedule.
- Setting-up CNC equipment
- Loading feed mechanism
- Verifying settings adjusting and CNC accordingly
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Managing and/or training a co-worker (most positions have a loader/unloader as a helper)
- Ability to manage a normal work load operating at least 12 CNC machines
- Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs
- Working with all floor supervisors and team leaders, making every effort to maintain production schedules, and limiting waste, scrap, re-works or turn backs
- Working with Quality Control personnel to maintain the highest quality product

Education and Experience:
- High School/GED required; prefer Associate's degree and/or equivalent experience in related discipline
- 3-5 years related experience is required (typically a CNC certification requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training)
- CNC certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of CNC controls (ie: Fanuc, Yaznac, Mazak, Okuma), with experience operating Mazak, Mori Seiki, Matsuura, Okuma, Haas, Tsugami (Swiss Turn), and Citizen Screw machines
- Experience running CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines with 4 and 5 axes, and lathes with 7 and 9 axes
- Experience with off-line tool setter (Parlec helpful)
- Ability to interpret CMM reports and adjust CNC accordingly
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and the ability to adjust machines to a chart
- Must have math skills equal to that used in a machining environment

- Must have working command of the English language

- Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
- Basic computer skills preferred
