Our customer in Sanborn, NY is looking for a seasoned CNC Machinist to join their manufacturing team.

Job Summary: The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision parts and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes, the ability to read technical drawings and experience with various CNC machinery.

This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position
Salary range based on experience: $25-30/hr

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines including mills, lathes, and grinders according to specified instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Programming: Create and modify CNC programs using G-code or CAM software. Make adjustments to programs as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure they meet the required specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they are in good working order. Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues as they arise.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including setup sheets, inspection results, and machine maintenance logs.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow machine handling procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completing a vocational training program or an associate degree in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, programming, and tool selection.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with G-code programming and CAM software. Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all machining and quality control aspects.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues effectively.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment.
