Summary

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
  • Good communication abilities
  • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds
  • Possess a clean driving record & ability to operate company vehicles
  • Adaptable to fluctuating priorities among projects

  • Language Skills- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Problem Solving Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills- Basic personal computer skills
Educational/Experience Requirements

Required High school diploma and 2-5 years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination.

Working Hours

8:00AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday, with one hour lunch. Availability to work Saturdays when needed. Flexible hours, come in early or leave late depending on work-load.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands of the Position

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those typical in an machine shop. Tool use is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, including the sounds of forklifts, tools, and machinery. Work is generally performed near moving mechanical parts. In most instances personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in this work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms all in a repetitive manner. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
