Description

Shift: 3:00 pm to 1:30 am, Monday-Thursday

Summary: This role is responsible for performing activities such as fixturing, set up, operation, quality assurance, working within the schedule for production and the timely delivery of final product to our customer, safety and all other machine shop activities. This position will provide new production components as well as being involved in customer repairs of machined products for our manufacturing team.

Time Utilization: Regular work hours are Second Shift, Monday-Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Schedule needs to be flexible and open to work overtime as needed to accommodate production schedules. This position may require up to 20% travel (international and domestic) during the first 12 months due to training requirements. Travel after the first year would be up to 5%.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Produce new components by converting 2D, 3D, blueprint and field drawings into machined components on both the CNC and manual equipment as needed.
  • Confirms raw materials and matching job production orders.
  • Recommends scheduled runs to provide highest output of production.
  • Utilize fixtures as required to produce consistent production components
  • Verifies cutting tools and cutting sequences
  • Set up and operate CNC 3 axis, milling machines as well as utilizing manual mill and lathe.
  • Produce measure and inspect parts consistent with published QC guidelines.
  • Perform all production and QC documentation as required.
  • Inspects, evaluates, documents to provide data feedback to functional departments involved for any future improvement recommendations
  • Maintains organized filing structure to adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Perform standard maintenance activities for milling machine.
  • Maintains a safe and highly organized work area using established 5S practices.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or ability to obtain. Previous work experience in operating of CNC machines is required. Ability to work from 2D and 3D drawings is a must. Must have three years of manufacturing experience. Specific all around knowledge in metal machining and fabrication is preferred.

Language Ability: Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to communicate in a team environment. Must be able to interpret and discuss general documents such as dimensional machine layouts, component drawings, written procedures and product information.

Math Ability: Speed and feed calculations, Metric and Standard calculations, basic and advanced measuring techniques, Ability to calculate dimensions, percentages, area and volume. Must be able to measure both English and Metric dimensions. Knowledge of resources available to complete these tasks.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to convert component drawings into real finished parts. The ability to make subjective decisions to positively impact production of required components.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of computers. The ability to work with spreadsheets, word documents, inventory and manufacturing software is a plus.

Certificates and Licenses: Current valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to work near metal cutting, welding and bending machinery. The associate is regularly exposed to dust, sparks, cutting fluid vapors and metal particulate matter.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The associate will be regularly required to lift and /or move up to 75 pounds in order to load and remove raw materials from the milling center. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk, talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl. The associate is frequently required to sit.
