CNC Machine Operator (Oxy-Fuel/Plasma)
Summary
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This role involves maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate records, and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and supplies. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Salary: $23.00 - $25.00

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plans Parts Cutting
• Interpret work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Determine stock inventory levels and place orders as needed
• Load steel plate stock onto the burning table
Operate CNC Cutting Machine
• Download programs for cutting parts
• Utilize proper tips, torch spacing, fuel settings, and material utilization
• Use a gantry-style thermal cutting machine capable of plasma and/or oxy-fuel cutting, powder marking, and beveling
• Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, adhering to standards
Maintain Cutting Process
• Observe and take measurements during cutting to maintain specifications
• Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls
• Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Follow safety procedures and regulations
Maintain Equipment
• Complete preventive maintenance requirements
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and call for repairs
• Document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs in logs
Professional Development
• Participate in educational opportunities
• Read technical publications to update job knowledge
• Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
• Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Training
• Train production staff within the CNC Department on proper procedures
Qualifications
Job Requirements
• High school degree and 4+ years related experience, or equivalent combination
