- To make it understood that "the Customer is our first priority".
- To setup CNC milling machines and complete first piece runs, including first piece inspections.
- To operate CNC milling machines for production runs, including in process inspections as required per process control documentation.
- To preform all necessary maintenance on CNC machine tools.
- To use available inspection equipment to ensure every machined part under his/her direct control meets required dimensions.
- To thoroughly document all manufacturing processes for future use.
- To ensure the safety of themselves and others when working with cutting tools and CNC machines.
- To ensure whenever possible that CNC machines run unattended during non business hours as much as possible.
- To help develop new ideas that will increase productivity, product quality, and/or decrease rejects with respect to machining.
- To maintain a clean working environment.
- To adhere to company policies as described in the employee handbook.
- To keep the Machine Shop Manager informed of any issue that may have an adverse affect on the well being of the company.
- Attend or conduct meetings as necessary and required.
- Any other duties or tasks assigned by the Machine Shop Manager.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years minimum as CNC machinist
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to interact with employees.
- Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to setup and run CNC milling machines.
- Ability to properly use inspection equipment to inspect machined parts.
- Ability to perform machine and tool maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and perform machine set-ups.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Ability to lift at least 80 lbs.
- Vision and depth perception suitable for use of inspection microscopes
- Environment: Climate controlled machine shop
