Job Summary:

Operate CNC and conventional lathes, mills, vertical machining center, saws and other plant Machinery in order to produce quality product as specified on work orders and drawings. Ontario Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Fully read and understand work orders, in conjunction with drawings, assure the quality and quantity of manufactured product;
  • Follow operating procedures, as required;
  • Setup and operate CNC and conventional lathes mills, vertical machining centers, saws and
  • any other plant machinery as required;
  • Use inspection, measure and test equipment to assure all dimensions and tolerances as specified on drawings and work orders are met;
  • Complete first part inspections;
  • Complete in process inspections;
  • Immediately "red tag" discrepant parts manufactured out of drawing tolerances and open a non-conformance report;
  • Maintain material traceability, as required by the work order, material certifications and standard operating procedures;
  • Immediately stop and then report to a Supervisor or Manager any practice or situation he or she feels in unsafe;
  • Work carefully and cautiously in order not to injure him or herself or any other personnel;
  • Regular and consistent on time attendance is required;
  • Perform other duties as required.
Education & Training:
  • Minimum grade 10 education OSS or equivalent;
  • Completion of a post secondary machining course in excess of 90 days or minimum of one year machining experience.
Shifts:
  • Alternating shift work is a requirement. It will be alternating day shift and afternoon shift.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience required and must be judged capable, by the Production Manager and Machine Shop Supervisor, of learning quickly.
