Job Description

2nd Shift-Monday-Thursday 1:55 pm-12:15 am

Position Summary: Model MTT's Core Values (Mindset of Growth, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Agility, Trust and Integrity, and Accountability) while supporting internal and external customer expectations. Responsible for programming, setup, operating CNC lathes to produce quality components and tooling for customers within determined specifications and allotted time frames.

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:

• Create programs using Gibbs Cam software from 2D/3D data.

• Capable of keeping 1 CNC lathe and support equipment running by managing workload and machining times.

• Post Program to CNC machine, setup tooling, secure material using proper chuck selection and run program.

• Display understanding of machining fundamentals, material machinability and tooling selection to process tooling and engineering changes.

• Prepare process plans, tooling, fixturing requirements, sequence of operations and other variables.

• Optimize speeds, feeds, and rate of material removal for various materials and cutting conditions.

• Perform equipment PM's, basic troubleshooting and repair of equipment break downs.

• Read/interpret blueprints and 3D CAD models.

• Machine parts to specified tolerances (+0.0005" - +0.005")

• Capable of using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, depth mic, calipers, dial indicators).

• Experience setting up and operating manual machines (mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill press).

• Adhere to and provide improvement suggestions for safety policies and practices.

• Communicate clearly and concisely with internal customers and coworkers to achieve goals.

• Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

• 3 years CNC lathe experience required

• 3 years blueprint reading experience required

• 3 years of experience setting up and operating machine tools preferred

• Fanuc control experience preferred

• MasterCam or Gibbs Cam programming preferred

• Proven ability to machine parts to specified print tolerances

• Ability to work independently and closely follow instructions in a fast passed environment

• Wire EDM or CNC Mill Programming Operating experience is a bonus
