MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret engineering drawings to determine specifications, set up and operating requirements
  • Complete first run inspection and complete spot checks for conformance to specifications
  • Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment
  • Set up and operate a CNC Lathe to produce finished components/parts
  • Work to defined tolerances
  • Write, edit and load CNC programs
  • Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with data on process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds or machining cuts.
Shift: Afternoon Shift Available
Monday to Thursday: between 4:00 pm to 2:30 am
Training to be completed on day shift Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • Post-Secondary education in General Machining, CNC Programming, or Mechanical focus would be preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' of relevant hands-on machining experience, preference in a machine shop setting
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Strong in math and computer skills
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools to ensure specifications and tight tolerances are met.
