DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to set up and operate CNC Lathe Machines independently as well as using machine tool setup sheets.
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings and determine machining methods to meet required part tolerances, fit, and finish.
- Knowledge of G-code, speeds, and feed rates appropriate for different materials.
- Cooperate with CNC Programmers on machine tool set-up, troubleshooting and improving programs to maintain machine productivity.
- Competently use all precision measuring instruments and contribute to JST's quality program by following quality procedures.
- Utilize a Personal Computer and shop floor control software to accurately track job labor and material usage.
- Understand and follow company procedures and act in a safe manner in a manufacturing environment.
- Maintain stewardship of equipment and contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the shop.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as required to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, and quoting departments.
- Contribute to team effort by achieving results. Work cooperatively with team members and assist engineering with design for manufacturability. Communicate design constraints and work within the team to achieve solutions.
- Able to safely lift and carry, push or pull objects up to 50lbs.
- Able to walk, stand and work on feet for the duration of shift.
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, grasp, handle and operate hand/power tools or controls.
- CNC Lathe Cutting Machine operation experience.
- Able to read blueprints and have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Must be competent in shop math, including algebra and trigonometry.
- Experience cutting stainless steels and plastics a plus.
- Technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work and contribute within a team.
