CNC Machine Operator
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the CNC machine. He/she will report directly to the supervisor on all matters. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the CNC machine. He/she will report directly to the supervisor on all matters. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Education
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Technology is preferred.
Years of Experience
- 1 Year + of CNC machine operating/programmer is considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures. dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises.
- On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions
- Work environment requires having construction safety footwear, safety glasses and hearing protection.
Machine Operator Level
- Have a high level of social interaction. Work with other technicians, programmers, and general labourers;
- Ability to use variety of tools and equipment;
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to read blueprints and recognize symbols and specifications;
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to write and communicate in English clearly and effectively;
- Knowledge of processes and practices of machining and familiarity with automated machinery required;
- Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment; and
- Knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments (verniers)
Job Specific Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans to develop and design projects;
- Act as a shift supervisor
- Responsible for loading, running, and modifying existing CNC programs;
- Responsible for completing "first off" inspection per component drawings;
- Responsible for ensuring identification process for components of manufacturing process documentation
- Responsible for closing the plant at the end of the shift;
- Responsible of supervision of junior staff (machine helpers)
- Responsible for Maintaining equipment, general housekeeping and determine if repairs or new equipment is needed;
- Work independently and requires little supervision.
