About the Role

Systematic Manufacturing is seeking an experienced manual machinist to support precision milling operations in a fast-paced, mil-spec manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a self-directed machinist with strong hands-on experience running Bridgeport-style Acer mills using Acu-Rite conversational controls.

You’ll be responsible for producing tight-tolerance components, interpreting complex prints and specifications, and supporting team-based machining operations while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Bridgeport-style Acer manual mills using Acu-Rite conversational controls
  • Produce tight-tolerance components to customer and military specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
  • Select, install, and adjust tooling and fixtures appropriately
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and optical comparators
  • Troubleshoot dimensional, tolerance, and surface finish issues independently
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and 7S-compliant work environment
  • Accurately complete job travelers, inspection records, and in-process documentation

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of manual machining experience, specifically with Bridgeport or Acer mills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Acu-Rite DRO or Acu-Rite MILLPWR G2 conversational controls
  • Deep understanding of manual machining fundamentals, including feeds, speeds, and tool wear
  • Ability to interpret customer and military specifications
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and completing required documentation
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and quality-driven work habits
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow shop policies and safety protocols

Preferred Experience

  • Military, aerospace, or defense machining background
  • Experience with manual lathes or secondary machining operations
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems
