We are seeking a Highly Skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our growing team of professionals who are passionate about excellence in advanced manufacturing.

Position Overview

The 5-Axis CNC Machinist will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC machines to produce precision components to exact specifications. This role requires deep technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

  • Set up, program, and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines (e.g., Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Okuma, etc.).
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files.
  • Utilize advanced CAM software (such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.,) for programming.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure tight tolerances.
  • Optimize machining processes for maximum efficiency, tool life, and part quality.
  • Maintain machine tools, fixtures, and cutting equipment in excellent working condition.
  • Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Uphold a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and product/service quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC VTL machines to produce high-quality parts.
  • Inspect parts and materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Adjust tooling and programs as needed.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes for large component handling.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of CNC VTL experience with large parts (30”+).
  • Proficient with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Overhead crane operation experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with at least 3 years in 5-axis machining.
  • Proven ability to program, set up, and operate 5-axis CNC machines independently.
  • Strong understanding of G-code, tool paths, feeds/speeds, and material properties (e.g., aluminum, titanium, stainless, Inconel).
  • Proficient in CAM software (Mastercam, , etc.).
  • Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong math, geometry, and trigonometry skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

  • General machinist certification and GD&T knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.
  • CNC programming certification or technical degree in machining/manufacturing.
