5-axis Lead Machinist

The 5-Axis CNC Machinist Team Lead position is collaborative, innovative and detail oriented. The Machinist will need to know the many aspects of machining from, setup, speeds, feeds, tooling, code and troubleshooting the machine. Team Lead will be working with the programmer to help improve machining and deliver feedback on run times. They will be managing their team and scheduling the work for each day. They will be communicating with the production manager to understand production goals and scheduling to determine which jobs to run first. The team lead will be responsible for the quality and timing of each 5-axis team member. The team lead will schedule or do themselves preventive maintenance on the machines.

Job Duties:

• Work with the plant manager to determine scheduling
• Determine tooling and process for each part
• Setup parts on machine 
• Touch off tools
• Load Programs
• Read G-Code
• Machine parts to print or in-process inspection sheet
• Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments
• Scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks
• Create new ideas for current or new processes
• When required, help with new job processes
• Be a positive role model
