The CNC Machinist role is located in Grandview, MO and reports to our Machine Group Lead. *** DwyerOmega is offering a sign on bonus for CNC Machinists! *** Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Develop new machining processes to produce new parts or parts that have yet to be produced on the CNC equipment. Review part prints to identify tooling and fixture needs, developing new fixtures or altering existing fixtures as needed. Write new CNC programs, complete initial setup and troubleshoot the new process. </li><li>Set-up and install tooling necessary for parts production as directed by the Machining Team Leader. This involves obtaining tooling from the tool storage area, installing in any of the special production machines in the prescribed manner, and making adjustments to produce parts within stated manufacturing tolerances. </li><li>Check first piece dimensions after set-up to assure conformance with engineering prints and quality standards. Use a variety of measuring instruments; i.e. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, plug and ring gages, etc. </li><li>Train new machine set-up personnel and machine operators in the proper use of the machines and instruct them how to perform quality part checks. </li><li>Advise management of spare parts required for repairs to equipment and tooling, within budget constraints. Perform simple repairs to equipment as needed. </li><li>Order spare parts as required to properly maintain equipment and tooling. </li><li>Responsible for general housekeeping in his/her immediate area of responsibility. </li><li>Assure strict adherence to company safety and health standards. </li><li>Collects, records, and maintains accurate CNC programs and other production related information and/or data as required. </li></ul> Key Performance Indicators (KPI's): <ul><li>Occupational Safety </li><li>Production Cycle Time </li><li>Operation Efficiency </li><li>Finished Goods Quality </li><li>Customer On-Time Delivery </li></ul>Requirements Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation: <ul><li>Must have sufficient experience and/or training in basic machine shop practices to program, set-up, and operate both manual and CNC equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and tooling instructions on both existing and new parts. . </li><li>Must already possess ALL CNC Intermediate Program / Set-Up / Operate VIII Skills, Experience and Requirements. </li><li>Must display and maintain a positive attitude. </li><li>Must be able to generate process data, tool lists, set-up sheets, and machine programs without assistance . </li></ul> Physical/Mental Essential Functions: <ul><li>Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time </li><li>Ability to reach above shoulders </li><li>Ability to walk back and forth through-out facility </li><li>Ability to control operation with hand or foot </li><li>Ability to lift / carry up to 70 pounds. </li><li>Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion </li></ul> Working Conditions: <ul><li>Work environment is very fast paced. CNC Machinist

Summary: The CNC Manufacturing Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading the machining department and providing day-to-day work direction for the manufacturing team. Secondary responsibilities include ensuring production schedule adherence, meeting production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and troubleshooting production issues. These functions are performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that produces existing and new products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li> Continually strive to improve workplace safety and enforce compliance with Company environmental, health, and safety standards and policy</li><li> Enforce compliance with Company policy and administer disciplinary action as appropriate</li><li> Review time and attendance for department and submit to payroll in timely manner</li><li> Identify continuous improvement opportunities in the machining processes and assist management with implementing those changes from idea to realization.</li><li> Provide technical development and mentoring for machinists and setup technicians to improve skills and capabilities within the department</li><li> Assist in training of setup operators and machine operators on multiple machine platforms</li><li> Work with Design Engineering as required to resolve manufacturing issues and strive to improve manufacturability of product design</li><li> Assist in implementing and managing an effective machine data collection system</li><li> Create and maintain machine shop documentation and provide work instructions to ensure process control</li><li> Ensure proper housekeeping and segregation/collection of scrap materials and waste</li></ul> Key Performance Indicators (KPI's): <ul><li> Safety Incident Rates</li><li> Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)</li><li> Production Cycle Time</li><li> Labor Efficiency</li><li> Finished Goods Quality</li><li> Customer On-Time Shipment</li><li> Department variable spending</li></ul>Requirements Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation: <ul><li> Must have sufficient experience and training in metal machine shop practices.</li><li> Expertise in operation and set up of both manual and CNC metal machining equipment</li><li> Extensive knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings</li><li> General CNC Programming capability for multiple platforms (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes, etc.).</li><li> 2+ years Supervisory experience and proven ability to effectively lead individuals and teams.</li><li> 2+ years of experience running, setting up, and programming multiple CNC machine platform types (Horizontal Mills, Vertical Mills, Sub-Spindle Lathes)</li><li> Must display and maintain a positive attitude.</li><li> Must have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to present and implement positive change</li></ul> Physical/Mental Essential Functions: <ul><li> Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time</li><li> Ability to reach above shoulders</li><li> Ability to walk back and forth through-out facility</li><li> Ability to control operation with hand or foot</li><li> Ability to lift / carry up to 70 pounds.</li><li> Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion</li></ul> Working Conditions: Work environment is very fast paced.
