About Company: What Does Prolec GE Waukesha Do? JOB SUMMARY To setup, operate, load and unload CNC machines to produce parts that will achieve optimum quality and efficiency levels while meeting the requirements of the engineering design. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Interprets and understand simple and complex part drawings.</li><li>Uses precision measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicators, etc. </li><li>Uses machine control codes, computers, and part nesting, DNC links, and file transfers to produce parts.</li><li>Utilizes machine control capabilities to make simple part programs, prove out programs and edit programs as a normal part of the setup and operation of CNC machines and related equipment.</li><li>Performs normal operator maintenance as prescribed by equipment builder to include the replacement of consumable materials and parts. </li><li>Performs multiple activities simultaneously, organizes work, and takes corrective action in response to error messages and/or process interruptions. </li><li>Assists with supervision in the training of other machine operators and helpers. </li><li>Diagnoses machine problems and repair of the machines. </li><li>Assumes leadership role and takes responsibility for overall performance of equipment.</li><li>Meets production standards by monitoring machine performance to include managing up time and quality standards. Use of punch dies and pressures used in the hydraulic forming of steel and alloys. </li><li>Very proficient at performing oxy/fuel flame and plasma cutting, part layout, inspection, hole drilling, tapping and milling to include an understanding of speed and feed rates. </li><li>Reads, understands, and follows guidelines set forth by E.I.s, M.P.s, S.P.s, O.I.C.s, and blueprints when performing assigned work.</li><li>Comply with all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in defined zero harm safety culture driven initiatives.</li></ul> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES TOOLS AND MACHINERY CNC machines such as saws, press brake, manual mills, plasma cutter and CNC Flex machine. Tools include micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, compass, height gage, dial indicator, tape measure, go-no-go gauges and squares. MATERIALS Personal protective equipment to include safety glasses, steel toed shoes, hearing protection, welding apron, face shield, and appropriate gloves. GENERAL Works under minimal supervision. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Acts decisively with a sense of urgency to maximize machine production and minimize down time. Strong knowledge of mathematics, to include geometry, to determine unknown part dimensions and/or relationships. Knowledge of metal types and characteristics. Understanding of the part use, fit and function as well as the manufacturing processes utilized is essential. Experience working with computers and machine controls. Job Description: We are seeking a full-time CNC Router Operator for our Glass Fabrication Factory. Duties include the set-up, operation, and maintenance of CNC machinery. CNC operators utilize CNC machinery to complete custom projects per specified drawings, ensuring the scope of work is completed on time, on budget with a focus on excellent quality while maintaining a safe working environment.
