Fabricator II In this job you will set-up and operate three-four pieces of fabrication or laser cutting equipment of moderate to advanced complexity using technical drawings, blueprints, or other specifications to form metal parts from various types of metal stock. Job Description and Responsibilities We are seeking an Entry CNC Operator to join our Roll Shop team at our Pueblo, Colorado location. The Entry CNC Operator's primary function is to will be responsible for the dressing and turning of rolls for all our Rolling Mills, in a safe manner. <ul><li>Utilize and safely operate CNC lathe, CNC grinder, cutting tools, templates, hand tools, associated measuring tools, blueprints, Rolling Mill rolls, and necessary safety equipment</li><li>Direct Bearing Buildup personnel to load and unload lathe </li><li>Read Prints</li><li>Select programs, templates, tools, and optimum operation of lathe or grinder</li><li>Turns rolls and checks tolerances </li><li>Handle rolls for shipment </li><li>Provide information and technical assistance to the Rolling Mills </li><li>Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly </li><li>Adhere to all appropriate standard operating procedures</li><li>Observe all safety rules, lock out procedures</li><li>Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 and equipment certifications, as required</li><li>Coordinate and work with mill personnel in maintaining mill production, while operating all equipment needed to complete the job and utilizing necessary safety equipment</li><li>Perform routine maintenance and assists maintenance personnel</li><li>Notify supervision and maintenance personnel of all abnormal job and equipment conditions.</li></ul>Requirements <ul><li>Must be a qualified CNC operator with 3-5 years machining experience preferred</li><li>Demonstrated ability to read prints</li><li>2 or 4 year degree in CNC Programming, Machining, or related field</li><li>Knowledge of the tools and equipment used for industrial purposes</li><li>Possess an understanding of the basic manufacturing process and familiarity with heavy industry, manufacturing, or mining; or a closely related field</li><li>Ability to safely and appropriately operate, power and hand tools, machinery, and mobile equipment; 12 months experience preferred</li><li>Competent in manipulating numbers, quantities, shapes and spaces; able to take simple measurements and perform basic mathematical operations (e.g., addition, subtraction, division, decimals, fractions)</li><li>Ability to convey and understand information effectively and safely, including speaking over a public address system</li><li>Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions, with exposure to elevated noise levels, extreme heat and cold, physical hazards - close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks, sharp edges, high pressure air, oxygen and gas lines (atmospheric conditions may require the use of a respirator)</li><li>Must be able to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment, which will include but not be limited to repetition, climbing, kneeling, standing, crawling, consistent exertion of forces up to 50 pounds or more</li><li>Must be willing to work varied shifts (3 shift rotation) and any days of the week</li><li>Must be 18 years of age</li><li>Valid driver's license preferred - required for certain positions within the scope of Steel Production Worker</li><li>Candidates will be required to demonstrate aptitude through testing</li></ul>The above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified, and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all of the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
