Eligible applicants must have at least 10 years of CNC machinist experience and operating 5-axis machines . Position Summary: Sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and shop math. Essential Functions <ul> <li>Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.</li> <li>Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece of machine.</li> <li>Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle.</li> <li>Loads control media, such as tape, card, or disk, in machine controller or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base.</li> <li>Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.</li> <li>Starts machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions.</li> <li>Stops machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments.</li> <li>Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.</li> <li>Operates machine manually to perform nonautomated functions and when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.</li> <li>Discusses control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.</li> <li>Communicates with supervisor and leadman to receive instructions and coordinate activities with coworkers.</li> <li>Inspects and measures parts to maintain quality, including statistical process control charts when required.</li> <li>Complies with established policy, safety standards, and quality procedures to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.</li> </ul> Minimum Requirements Training and Experience: <ul> <li>High school or equivalent and between 2 and 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship or a combination thereof.</li> <li>Minimum of 10 years of CNC Machinist experience required.</li> <li>Experience operating 5-axis machines.</li></ul>Physical Demands: The employee is required to: <ul> <li>stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor</li> <li>exert at a minimum 50 pounds of force occasionally</li> <li>lift up to 75 pounds occasionally</li> <li>weight, force or shape of object may require the use of overhead crane or lifting assist</li></ul>Working Conditions: The employee is subject to an industrial worksite including but not limited to: <ul> <li>noise from operating machines</li> <li>moving equipment or moving machine parts</li> <li>objects that may have sharp edges or burrs</li> <li>machine shop related chemicals that may require restricted handling and proper use of PPE</li> </ul>

CNC MACHINIST EXPERIENCED

CNC Technician - 1st shift JOB OBJECTIVE/ SUMMARY: CNC Technician - also referred to as Computer-Controlled Machine Tool Technician. Oversee shift output of operations to produce product that meets company quality specifications while following standard operating procedures to achieve production quotas. During the machining process, the technician constantly monitors the CNC control module, checking to see if any problems exist and to ensure that the machine tools run in a steady, continuous manor. This is a 24-hour operation. Position substrate in vises or fixtures on a CNC machine, lathe, milling machine, or other. Detect problems by listening for specific sounds, a dull cutting tool or excessive vibration. Ensure that the work piece is being properly lubricated and cooled also visually inspect parts for abnormalities to detect broken or worn tools. Based on output from tolerance gauges and CMM reports, make tool changes as well as tool offset adjustments as necessary to achieve product quality. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Assign workers to workstations in order to meet production requirements. • Monitor production and adjust work assignments, supply of material, and machine operation when necessary. • Confer with supervisor to receive instructions and exchange production information. • Train workers in equipment operation. • Perform duties of operators as required to maintain production. • Properly assemble and pre-set tooling to be loaded into CNC machines. • Make tool changes and machine adjustments (offsets) as per results of gauging and CMM read outs. • Monitor the machining of raw materials using calibrated instruments, CMM and graphic instructions (blueprints, process sheets, CMM reports, etc.) to ensure products meet Beretta U.S.A. quality standards. • Operate various CNC machine centers in multiple workstations. • Operate multiple CNC machine centers simultaneously. • Clean machine fixtures and load raw material. • Prepare parts by deburring, sanding or cleaning for fixture placement. • Report errors in production and performance to immediate supervisor. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: • Monitor tool management systems. • Ensure shift maintains work area including cleaning equipment and work area. • Perform preventive maintenance on machines. • Start up and shut down machines • Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES: • Strong communication and leadership skills • Capable of reading basic CNC programs. • Capable of using Windows base software, MS Excel, MS Word. • Understand the principles of CNC machine operations. (Ex. Cartesian Coordinate System) • Education in the function of tools and equipment used in precision metal cutting. • Recognize problems with machines. • Be proactive to machining problems. • Keep count of parts produced daily and hold shift operators accountable for quality or productivity misses. • Perform basic mathematical calculations. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: • Five to seven years of experience operating horizontal CNC machining centers (Mori Seiki, HAAS, Makino, Mitsui Seiki etc.) or technical school equivalent. • Experience as shift leader in machining environment • Educated in mathematics. • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerance. • Educated in occupational hazards and required safety precautions. • High school graduate diploma or GED.
