Job Description Pay Range: $26-$40 per hour 2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. OR 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Time and a half for hours over 10 in a day, and of course 40 in a week. $2 an hour shift differential. Position Summary Position is focused primarily on the setup and operation of a Y-axis CNC Lathe. Applies inspection techniques to monitor the CNC process. Composite/Steel toed shoes and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields must be worn at all times. </li> <li> Reads and interprets a variety of engineering and quality specifications. </li> <li> Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications; understand standard notes, symbols and instructions as related to work. </li> <li> Applies practical and working knowledge of machines to make the necessary adjustments (assigned offset/program controls) to override machine control and correct machine performance. </li> <li> Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speed of machining cuts or Plans setup (mounting and dismounting grinding wheels) and operation of CNC and manual grinding machine(s) using proper tools, and produces parts within established tolerances, specifications at acceptable levels of production, which includes the reading and interpretation of process drawing, routings and travelers. </li> <li> Performs inspections on parts using precision measuring instruments. </li> <li> Performs continuous improvement (lean) activities as may be assigned or required. </li> <li> Performs other duties and assignments as scheduled and/or required. </li></ul> Requirements: <ul> <li> High School diploma or GED required. </li> <li> Two (2) year technical degree in manufacturing technology preferred or one (1) to three (3) years machining experience in precision manufacturing environment. </li> <li> Solid understanding and ability to use shop math and precision (micrometers, precision dial gauges etc.) and measuring instruments. </li> <li> Thorough knowledge of CNC machine operation, tool off setting and basic machine code. </li> <li> Must be able to read and understand technical documentation. </li> <li> Must be computer literate, able to read process drawings (blueprints), understand geometric tolerances and engineering specifications. </li> <li> Physically mobile and able to safely operate heavy machinery, ability to perform routine and heavy tasks. </li> <li> Stand, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, and safely run all machines. </li> <li> Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds with full mobility. </li> <li> Self-starter with the ability to effectively lead and interact with all various levels of the organization. </li> <li> Incumbent must possess a high degree of computer literacy. </li></ul> What You'll Love About SKF: Rest and Relaxation.
