Job Type Full-time Description Primus Aerospace is looking for an Team Lead and CNC Setup Machinist to work at our Lakewood facility on 2nd shift. 2nd shift works the hours of 4:00 pm - 2:30 am Monday through Thursday. Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense &amp; space OEMs / Primes &amp; Tier I suppliers. The company specializes in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry parts; machined out of standard and exotic metals. Job Purpose: The Team Lead is responsible for the performance and production of Primus Aerospace's manufacturing operations within their department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Will perform close tolerance set-ups of CNC Lathes/Mills, Conventional Lathes/Mills and other Machine Shop Equipment to obtain maximum work output from machines while holding dimensional tolerances. </li></ul><ul><li>Will validate and optimize new CNC programs.</li><li>Will suggest improvements to old CNC programs (i.e. continuous improvement). </li><li>Will be capable of starting a tool and completing it to final approval.</li><li>Will perform grinding of own form tools. </li><li>Will perform close-tolerance set-up and operation of all necessary equipment such as; tool grinders, surface grinders, drill presses, pedestal grinders, power saws, arbor pressses, mills, lathes, rotary table, optical comparator and any other necessary machine shop equipment.</li><li>Will be reponsible for obtaining maximum work output from all machinery &amp; equipment used. </li><li>Will perform receiving, issuing, checking, recording, storing &amp; performing related functions necessary for control of inventory</li><li>Will perform typical layout operations with other work described herin, such as : Layout detail of tools or dies as related to machine or other tool fabrication; layout parts such as raw castings, forging and sheet metal parts to use as a guide in making tool or die.</li><li>Will perform all fabrication, to exacting tolerances, tools &amp; dies such as: Class "A" jigs and fixtures, drill jigs, check fixtrues, dies for sheet metal parts, progressive or compound dies, form and draw dies.</li><li>Proves dies and tooling and performs rework on the same level of difficulty as other work described herein.</li><li>Will perform all necessary sequences of operations and complete layout involving rotary tables, compound angles, exacting tolerances, etc.</li><li>Will maintain and verify records of all tooling location within the area.</li><li>Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards</li><li>This job description is not all inclusive of all duties.
