Cadrex is searching for CNC Machinist with prior experience working with Swiss Style CNC turning platforms. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you'll utilize your expertise to set up, operate, and troubleshoot machining operations for a wide variety of parts on our Swiss CNC turning equipment.

  • Interpret part specific work instructions for the set-up and operation of Swiss Style Turning Lathes
  • Install pusher collets, guide bushings and sub spindle collets per Work Instructions to hold / guide precision ground material and finish part geometry. Configure Bar Feeder / Loader for specified material size and part parameters
  • Build cutting tool / holder assemblies defined by work instructions at initial set up and specific tool change intervals. Using tool setter to record X and Z positional measurements to be loaded into assigned offsets on machine control. Install tool holder assemblies into the appropriate machine turret or tool block position
  • Initiate CNC programs on machine controllers on first piece at a reduced rate, using control functions such as Single Block, Dry Run, Feed / Rapid override, and positional data to determine all aspects of a set-up have been performed correctly
  • Identify specific geometric / dimensional characteristics on finish or in process parts, using a combination of measuring instruments and dimensional reports from Quality Control. Adjust tool offsets, work coordinate offsets and or macro variables per work instructions to bring dimensional characteristics into a specified tolerance per inspection criteria
  • Continuously monitor all aspects of CNC machining operations to identify the need for adjustments, cutting tool replacement and or potential program adjustments. Report anomalies or improvement opportunities to production supervision
  • Thoroughly break down CNC machining operations in a clean / organized manner, identifying opportunities for maintenance, replacement, or improvement. Inspect and return all tools and instruments to their appropriate locations.
