CNC Programmer
Full Time
Summary: The Tool Designer/CNC Programmer coordinates definition of complex requirements for materials, parts and process's used in manufacture of products. This position establishes standards for specification and documentation to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned:

Technical Support
  • Produce Tool Design and 5 axis CNC Machine Programming in support of commercial aircraft interior manufacturing.
  • Work to written standards and take on challenging new part designs that are outside standard.
  • Create and release Tool Orders, CNC Operator Documents, Tool Sketches and traditional Tool Designs.
  • Takes on special assignments from Manager.

Workplace
  • Work in a team atmosphere.

  • Release Tool Designs and CNC Programs.

Shop Floor Support
  • Support Production Shifts as needed.
  • Provide feedback to Manager and Operations Team.

Lean Support
  • Promote and support 6s, Kaizen, and other Safran sponsored Lean activities.
  • Participate and contribute to 6s and Lean activities.
  • Support Reporting Metrics for CNC Machine Shop.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in applicable engineering discipline preferred. PC based Tool Design, and CNC Programming experience, with a minimum of 2 years as an Associate Tool Designer/CNC Programmer or equivalent experience. Preferred skills (not required), Catia V5 experience, ThermoForming Tooling Design.

Physical Demands: Ability to pick up and carry statements, records and marketing materials for placement in files or trunk of car. Ability to access record manuals and office equipment (cutter, laminator). Ability to retrieve items from lower file cabinets and shelving. Ability to work over desk for projects and communication with other personnel. Assisting with daily duties to retrieve files from lower cabinets. Ability to go up and down steps to go to meeting on second floor. Ability to grasp and carry manuals, folders, and other office equipment (staplers).Ability to work with employees throughout plant.
