Summary

Responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to fabricate and produce metal parts according to precise specifications.

Essential Functions
• Set up press brake machines by installing and aligning tooling, adjusting machine settings, and programming controls according to job specifications.

• Operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape metal parts based on blueprints, work orders, or CAD drawings.

• Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and precision.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical or operational issues that arise during production.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating press brake machinery.

• Assist with training new operators or cross-training team members as needed.

• Provide input on process improvements and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Operates additional machine shop equipment to prepare and perform secondary operations as needed.

• Other duties and assignments as needed and directed by Group Leader / Supervisor or Department Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Able to do basic shop math, read blueprints and use measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, and dial calipers, etc.

• Able to set up / operate press brake machines to produce parts to specification

• Must be willing to cross-train and learn new skills and techniques

• Some lifting is required

• Able to use forklift.

Education and Experience

High School or GED level education is preferred

• Equivalent experience in assigned trade/vocation can be substituted for educational minimums

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating Press Brakes (TRUMPF's TruBend 5000 and 3000 series)

• Previous computer-controlled programming experience preferred
